Infant baptisms are a welcoming celebration of our littlest ones into the Catholic Church, with the support of our parish community.
Baptism is the first sacrament of initiation, meaning your child receives the salvation of Jesus Christ and becomes a member of the Universal Church. This is not something to take lightly. To baptize your child is something that should be discerned and as the parents, you should be ready to raise your child according to Church teachings.
Please check out this website that has more information about what baptism is all about: https://media.ascensionpress.com/2020/11/07/the-ultimate-guide-to-catholic-baptism/
After you’ve done that, please contact the parish office at 204-233-7367 or firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a meeting with our parish priest to discuss baptism.
- Families (including Godparents) are required to complete a Baptismal Preparation Session. Families who take our course must be registered parishioners. Families from other parishes must have their preparation course done at their home parish.
- Families need to approach the parish at least 3 months prior to the baptismal date. Our Baptismal Preparation is a 3-step process which is completed in a two month period. More details can be given when you contact the Parish Office to book the date of the baptism.
- At least one Godparent is a baptized, practicing Catholic.
