Coldest Night of the Year Returns to Holy Cross!
Following last winter’s highly successful event, Holy Cross is pleased to team up with St. Boniface Street Links again to host Coldest Night of the Year. It is a family-friendly walk to raise money for a vital charity that serves people experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness.
Who: Anyone who wants to form a team or walk with family and friends along a 2.5 km or 5 km walk that starts at the church. You can get people or businesses to sponsor you to raise money for Street Links or make a group donation.
When: Saturday, February 22, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
Where: Participants will gather in the church basement between 3:30pm and 4:00pm at 252 Dubuc Street.
Why: To raise money for this critical outreach service that seeks out those who are homeless and helps them secure safe and sober housing in the neighborhood. As you know, Holy Cross has teamed up with Street Links in the past to set up a warming shelter in our basement during extreme cold snaps. This is an opportunity for us to support this organization.
How You Can Get Involved:
Organize a team to walk the route, make a pledge, or provide baking for the event which is expected to attract as many as 150 people.

Holy Cross will be serving chili, snacks, and warm beverages to all participants when they return from the walk. Let’s see how many teams we can form and have another fun filled night of fitness, food and fellowship!
Update Coldest Night Baking Notice
As you’re aware Holy Cross is hosting approximately 150 people for Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser for St. Boniface Street Links on Saturday, February 22. We are asking for donations of cookies, cakes, muffins, slices, sweet treats and also GLUTEN FREE ITEMS (which often get forgotten). Gluten Free items must be tagged “GLUTEN FREE” so it can be kept separate from the regular baking. Any baking delivered to the parish office can be delivered only on the morning of Friday, Feb 21 because the office always closes at 12 noon OR in the afternoon of Saturday Feb. 22 in the basement. If you require baking to be picked up please contact Nicole Gougeon, 204-254-4659 or email nicolegg1@mymts.net for pick up arrangements on Fri. Feb 21st.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!
Sincerely,
Marianne Savard, Holy Cross Food Bank Coordinator
