Baptisms (Infants)
Infant baptisms are a welcoming celebration of our littlest ones into the Catholic Church, with the support of our parish community.
Baptism is the first sacrament of initiation, meaning your child receives the salvation of Jesus Christ and becomes a member of the Universal Church. This is not something to take lightly. To baptize your child is something that should be discerned and as the parents, you should be ready to raise your child according to Church teachings.
Please contact the parish office at 204-233-7367 or office@holycrossparish.ca to set up a meeting with our parish priest to discuss baptism.
Requirements:
- Families (including godparents) are required to complete a Baptismal Preparation Session. Families who take our course must be registered parishioners. Families from other parishes must have their preparation course done at their home parish. If the Baptismal Preparation Session is done at another parish, we will require a letter, or a certificate signed by the parish priest with a parish seal stating that the session has been completed.
- At least one godparent must be a baptized, practicing Catholic.
- Godparents who are parishioners at another parish must provide a letter from their priest stating that they are a registered parishioner and attends mass regularly.
