In response to Jesus' loving plea to spend time with him, Holy Cross Parish offers the faithful an opportunity to worship.

Good News!

Fellow Holy Cross parishioners,

As many of you know, we have received a letter from the diocesan Financial Administrator bearing good news in response to our proposal and request for approval to replace the elevator/lift.

His Grace, Archbishop Albert LeGatt, has authorized Holy Cross to proceed with the project, estimated to cost $124,000. The contract has been awarded to Summit Elevators as proposed.

The Archbishop also authorized Holy Cross to raise funds for this project, to a maximum of $121,000, diocesan tax exempt, until November 30, 2024. By not having to forward 20% of these donations to pay the diocesan levy, we can reach our ‘target’ more quickly.

We are now able to receive donations towards this project – noting the tax exempt ‘window’ of time. Thank you to those who have already contributed so generously to this project. Please be sure to include the words ‘elevator project’ on the memo line of cheques, on eTransfers and/or donation envelopes containing cash.

The unit is being built to fit the existing structure and work in the area has begun to prepare for the installation of the new unit as soon as it is ready.

We are wished all the best with the new elevator that will be a welcome addition for our clients to reach the food bank and for everyone to access other Parish functions in the church basement.

Please note that donations to unauthorized projects remain subject to the diocesan levy.
