Holy Cross Parish Financial Policies

Holy Cross Parish ensures that donations received are used for the donor’s intended purpose or purposes.

Spending of funds is confined to approved programs and projects. Approval for this spending comes through the Finance Committee, the Leadership Team and, when required, the Diocese.

Holy Cross Parish Donation Policy

Holy Cross Parish will not accept donations for projects or purposes not within the parish’s objectives or which have not been approved by the parish.

Holy Cross Parish Donor Restricted Gift Policy

Each restricted contribution donated toward an approved program or project will be used as restricted by the donor with the understanding that when the need for such a program or project has been met or cannot be completed for any reason as determined by the parish, the remaining restricted contributions will be used where needed most.

The Archdiocese of St. Boniface discourages parishes from accepting Gifts-in-Kind.

Holy Cross Parish Gift in Kind Donation Policy

The parish will not accept ‘Gift in Kind’ donations without pre-approval. Individuals wishing to purchase and donate items to the parish must first have the gift pre-approved.

If the proposed gift is to be purchased, a form will be provided to which the purchase receipt(s) must be attached. Please do not submit these receipts and forms in the parish Sunday/Feast Day envelopes. Holy Cross Parish will follow the CRA recommended ‘cheque exchange’ procedure for these gifts.

Holy Cross Parish Purchasing Policy

No purchases are to be made for the parish without due authorization. Receipts for any authorized purchase are to be submitted attached to the appropriate completed form giving all details.

Holy Cross Parish ‘Free Will’ Donation Policy

All Free Will donations gathered in Holy Cross Parish will follow diocesan policies and procedures, using the appropriate Tamper Proof Bags. A parish cheque for these donations will be issued to the organization or other for whom the donation is intended.
